08 May Information about masses of the Cathedral of Santiago
Due to the works inside the Cathedral of Santiago, which by its scope and magnitude will make it impossible to maintain the normal activity in the main altar, naves and in the chapels of the basilica, the cult is moved to other churches in the city. Specifically, the daily mass of the pilgrim, at 12:00 noon, will be celebrated in the church of S. Francisco, and at 7 pm in San Fiz de Solovio (from June). The church of Santa María Salomé will host the celebration of the Eucharist with the following hours: 7:30, 9:00, 10:00 and 7:00 p.m. from Mondays to Sundays. Saturday afternoon also at 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, in addition to the indicated celebrations, there will be mass at 1:00 PM.
The Chapel of the Corticela maintains its usual mass at 11:00 am.
Groups of pilgrims in different languages will be distributed in the church of S. Fiz de Solovio and in the chapel of the International Center for the Welcome to the Pilgrim (rúa Carretas, 33).
The Cathedral will remain open and accessible, for the rite of the Embrace of the Apostle and descend to the apostolic crypt. The opening hours of the Cathedral will be from 9 am to 8 pm.
The only door that will remain open will be Puerta de Platerías, with double use: entrance and exit, also fulfilling the function of exit gate the Pórtico Real (Bookshop).
The Museum is open (entrance by praza do Obradoiro), from 9 am to 8 pm.
The deadline for this intervention is 12 months.
