This service consists of a mobile phone application that, using artificial intelligence, translates the entire content of the Mass celebrated at the main altar in real time, without interfering with the service or altering the solemnity of the setting. Thanks to this app, the Mass can be followed with digital translation, in both text and audi

This service is already available through a free app, available on the App Store and Google Play, and offers two modes of use: one in “reading mode,” with the translated text on the screen (light or dark mode), and another in audio mode, with natural voice. It only requires a mobile phone and standard headphones; no additional installation is needed.

The system uses a proprietary intelligent compression and synchronization algorithm that analyzes natural speech pauses and automatically adjusts them, reducing translation latency so that they arrive almost at the same pace as the original voice and increasing the fluency and naturalness of the translated speeches. It is designed to maintain stable connections, even with hundreds of simultaneous users. Ultimately, it provides a tool that unites languages, cultures, and people in a space like the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, a pilgrimage destination for people from all over the world. It’s an application to help overcome language barriers and open doors for all who arrive, regardless of their country of origin, without losing the spiritual message or the sense of community.

Furthermore, this simultaneous translation service is accessible, allowing deaf people to follow the written liturgy on their mobile phones.

The app has been designed for use in liturgical celebrations, although it can also be used in other events, such as pastoral talks, catechesis, conferences, and institutional functions. This project responds to a common need at the cathedral, where every day pilgrims or visitors from other countries, or people with hearing impairments, attend liturgical services, conferences, or tours with devotion, but do not understand what is being said, limiting their participation and spiritual experience.

The app is available for Android and Apple devices.

The Cathedral of Santiago is implementing a simultaneous translation service for the faithful and foreign visitors who participate in the…

[1,57
